British Rowing Championships 2014 - Senior Women

The Senior Women's attitude going into Brit champs was to gain an idea of where we are this year. Last year was a successful one and Brit champs was a great opportunity to see where we are at. Our aim was to get to the A/B semis, which would require us to come top 12 in the time trial - no easy feat when faced with the massive crews of GB composite VIIIs like Leander and UL and the traditionally dominating universities of Newcastle and Durham. The girls, using a new race plan composed by Jack, put in a strong performance and were happy with how the time trial went, without knowing results yet. Our 10th place result was happily received as it confirmed that we are still a strong contender this year. This placed us close to the crews who will race in our category this year and gives us great enthusiasm to push on towards races later in the term. It is a shame we couldn't see where we would place after the semis as racing was cancelled due to extremely windy conditions. Nevertheless, it was a successful start to the new season.
